The 10 Rules of Bohemian Marketing
As I write this, I am listening to the Dandy Warhols play Bohemian Like You. Are you familiar? Better go put it on if you’re going to read this.
Let’s rock…
What does it mean to be Bohemian?
Bohemian – a person who has informal and unconventional social habits, especially an artist or writer.
Is that you?
If you want to be successful in this online space where Barbarians slay Dragons and Wizard pull bags of gold out of thin fucking air…
…it better be.
Case in point…
“Cloud Money: A White Trash Guide to Producing Wealth on the Internet”
It’s a product about creating and selling digital assets.
I launched it for 4 days.
That “White Trash” thing got a lot of people talking. Some good, some bad, but a lot of energy.
And when the dust settled 4 days later Cloud Money, my funny little course with the politically incorrect name had generated $10,426.67.
Thanks haters.
RULE 1: Be Polarizing
1.The Collector…
The Collector looks at information products like Stephen King novels. He finds the product vendors that he likes and he kind of attaches himself to them like authors.
When they release a new product he buys it.
When they send out a new email he opens it.
He collects their products, never really taking action on any of them but just being entertained by them. Many times the collector doesn’t even realize he’s a collector.
Many times it’s a subconscious act. He thinks he’s being productive by following the teachings of his most favorite internet marketing gurus, but in reality he’s just being entertained by them.
Many times the collector understands that he is not making money because he is not taking action. He has a sense for it but doesn’t have the urgency to change it in most cases.
I don’t mind the collector. If severe ambition and a penchant for execution did not haunt me, I myself might be a collector. My grandfather was a collector of coins, guitars, and even cars.
I like collectors.
I came up with an idea for my product. A concept if you will. In my niche, there is a company called clickfunnels which is very popular among marketers. They have a lot of brand awareness and they have a strong affiliate program which drives that awareness.
The problem with clickfunnels? It’s fairly expensive as far as monthly expense is concerned. At $99 a month, All the newbies know about them because of their great brand awareness but none of the newbies can really afford clickfunnels from a business standpoint because they have no idea what they are doing yet. If they can afford it it’s because they are spending out of pocket which is not conducive for a great business.
SO I decided I would target this “can’t afford clickfunnels” demographic who knew the power of a funnel (thanks clickfunnels) but couldn’t afford that all in one solution. I wanted to show them how to build an entire functioning sales funnel that would make them money. And I wanted to show them how to set it all up for free.
I decided I would make the product video because I can produce the videos quickly. Much quicker than writing and people perceive the video presentation as having a higher value than a special report.
I’m just wondering if your sick of being hustled yet?
See that’s all I ever hear about when I connect with people on facebook.
They are sick of having to buy all these upsells, and they hate getting lost in these giant sales funnels…
Well…newsflash princess…
Those giant sales funnels account for over half those marketers revenue.
And the only way to get those marketers to stop upselling you and giving you garbage on the front end is by showing them that you can handle another way.
See I’ve been saying to everybody that my new product Affiliate Command 2017 is “customer-centric.”
But you know that’s really just a nice way of saying…
I’ve been reading through Jim Macks book on Offline Consulting and I am pretty blown away. When I search through Google Places in my area, I am finding auto repair shop after auto repair shop with no pictures, poor websites, no social media presence…
…it’s ridiculous. These guys can be fixed so easily. Jim’s talking about charging 47 to 97 bucks a month in his book to manage these auto repair shops social media presence and then outsourcing that.
Did you know that according to The Freelancers Union 1 in 3 Americans are freelancers right now?
In fact Forbes says that many predict by 2020 50% of the United States will be working for themselves as freelancers in some capacity.
The old concept of 9 to 5 is dying. It’s sad and scary. Why? The internet. I don’t need to tell you that. It’s as plain as the nose on your face. We can all look around and see it.
Within 5 years I believe that most of you will either be like me and work for yourself online or you will work for someone else who does.
It’s a bold statement I know. But when you know what I know and you see what I see…it doesn’t seem so crazy.
Listen, I think you should work on doing what I do…not working for someone else who learned how to do it.
What makes anyone else better than you? You’re smart, capable, hard working…there is no reason you cannot succeed at this.
Now the first thing that usually hangs people up when they start trying to make money online is picking a niche to work out of.
Well what if you didn’t have to?
What if you just skipped that step. What if you just talked about whatever you wanted? And promoted whatever you wanted while doing it?
Maybe one day you talked about make money online stuff and the next day you talked about relationships…
How cool would that be to just talk about whatever you wanted and not be pigeon holed into any one niche?
Well you will be happy to know that it’s completely possible and people are doing it everyday right now. It’s a well established model that I like to call “A to Z” because you have so much freedom with what you want to talk about and promote.
I want to give you 5 methods to doing this right here:
The beauty is the only thing those things have in common is that they are interesting and they are a list of 10.
The only rule? Just be interesting.
It’s not enough just to tell the story. You’re not CNN. People don’t follow facts as much as they follow opinions. So have a take.
You are taking on the role of the reporter with an opinion here.
The fantastic thing about this is your content is written for you, all you have to do is report it and have an opinion on it. It’s already trending. People are already interested.
Life skills are usually associated with managing and living a better quality of life. They help us to accomplish our ambitions and live to our full potential.
Any skill that is useful in your life can be considered a life skill. Tying your shoe laces, swimming, driving a car and using a computer are, for most people, useful life skills.
With life skills based method you are focusing on a common denominator like “Motivation” or “Inspiration” or “overcoming adversity.”
So as long as you create content with that in mind you can move through any niche you want to. There are life skill based stories in ALL niches. Again here you are the story teller.
Same thing with the lifetime channel. Everytime I turn around they are playing those damn sad bastard movies.
It’s like if you want to watch a movie on the Lifetime Network…you better get ready because whatever it’s about, whether a factory worker or a mountain climber…there is going to be some major depressing stuff in that movie.
The beauty of this is that you can flow through ALL the niches as long as you maintain that common denominator of “upbeat” or “happy” stories.
With all 5 of these models you can basically just pick and choose products from whatever niche you want to promote from whenever you feel like it.
So you know where you find all those crazy products and make great commission rates?
Forget about Amazon.
I’m talking about real commissions… like above 50%
I’m talking about Clickbank.
If you had some high quality reviews that were already done for you on some clickbank products and all you had to do was just plug in your affiliate link….
…that would be extremely helpful if you were applying one of the methods I showed you above.
How? Imagine this for a second:
Let’s say you did a blog post called “10 of the Weirdest woodworking projects ever made.”
Now right after those 10 weird wood working projects you say, “If you enjoyed this list of Crazy woodworking projects and woodworking looks cool to you check out my review below on Tom’s Woodworking Guide.” To get started…
Then you just cut and paste the review.
Alright with me so far?
So where do you get these DFY reviews that have been done on quality clickbank products?
You get them from Arun. Best in the business.
Go crush it. Talk about whatever you want. Do it your way.
That’s all I got. I’ll see you in the next one.

…it means you are not getting the results you want out of your CPA campaigns. But, you know what? The good news is, it doesn’t have to be that way.
Don’t get me wrong. There is no silver bullet, no secret potion, no secret trick that no one else knows about the will take you from losing money in CPA to making $100’s or $1000’s of dollars a day. In truth, probably the single greatest obstacle people face in success in CPA is the idea that there is such a thing as push button riches, where little to no work is required. However, if you will do the work, and follow some simple rules, you can dramatically increase your odds of success.
So if there is a set of simple rules that can help someone create campaigns that make money, why isn’t everyone doing it? That’s a great question. One which can be explained as we go.
Please note, paid traffic and organic traffic campaigns are conducted and scaled differently, and the focus of this article is paid traffic campaigns.
So the 3 reasons you suck at CPA marketing are:
Although there is a place for direct linking in CPA marketing, it should be limited in scope for several reasons.
First, if you are direct linking most types of offers, you will restrict yourself from the most abundant and highest quality traffic sources. Google Adwords and Facebook are the two largest traffic platforms on the planet and they have a lot of high quality traffic to offer. However, in almost every case they will not approve direct link campaigns to CPA offers. Continue reading
I recently read a fantastic article over on horkeyhandbook.com by Mickey Gast called ” How to Get Started with Affiliate Marketing.” I thought the article was really relevant heading into 2017 here and it was worthy of your time and attention. I was inspired buy Mickey’s article to do this small infographic that sort of summarizes some of the info in the article.
Hope it helps!
It was called “How to Easily Shorten and Track Affiliate Links.” For a lot of people that are first getting into affiliate marketing, this is something they overlook. I promise you however, that you most definitely want to be tracking your affiliate links. The fact of the matter is, you only have so much energy. You need to know what you are doing that is effective and what you are doing that is not effective. Knowing where your traffic and sales are coming from are a big part of that.
I created this simple summary infographic based on the original work of Melissa. Hope it helps! -Kam
