The world is a funny place. Filled with more darkness than light, more chaos than order, and more sadness than fulfillment.
We march on.
We train ourselves to be confident. To align our thought processes with something that resembles success, and by doing so we thereby set destinies in motion that we tell ourselves we desire.
And when we get knocked down a few notches…
When things don’t go our way, no matter the sacrifices or the effort…
We’re left standing there on the proverbial sidewalk of bewilderment, confused by the cards that life dealt us.
I’ve been there.
The truth is, we never had any real control. We never had an actual reason to be confident about anything. But without it, how on earth would we function.
If you are out there right now and you are struggling to make money online, if you are working a job that you wish you could quit, or if your wife is tired of you staying up all night working on your “internet business” that never seems to make you any money…
…then I want you to take heart now and pay attention.
Life is more like the Muller-Lyer Illusion.
We keep telling ourselves that the line on the left is slightly longer than the one on the right but in fact they are exactly the same length.
As humans we very rarely see that though.
It doesn’t matter how many times you stare at the mirror and tell yourself you are rich, or skinny, or that you’re relationship is perfect…if you believe those lines are two different lengths you will always be lost.
The paradigm shift required to get someone to believe that those two lines are the same length should be easy…you just need a ruler.
Still yet, even after measuring them you find yourself doubting it, confused by the illusion.
There is a disconnect between what your retina is sending to your brain and how your brain is interpreting the data.
To me it’s the same disconnect that is happening when you are trying to be successful in business or in life but cannot seem to make that happen.
You have no ruler to assure you either.
You’re just stuck with your own thoughts and belief. It begs the question, “Do I really believe the things I am saying?”
I think that when you really start believing the things you’re saying in affirmation statements, you will have broken the illusion. But like I said, the paradigm shift required is no small thing.
Consider the two buildings.
Two outside walls on the left and two inside walls on the right. The corner where the inside walls meet…it looks bigger than the outside corner where the two walls meet.
It’s not. Again…illusion. They are exactly the same length.
What if the world around you is not the way you think it is.
What if you’re telling yourself in the mirror that you’re going to be a millionaire in 1 year but your mind still believes that you are going to be working at that same dead end job next year.
Maybe the illusion still has you.
I don’t claim to know or understand what it takes to break a man’s illusion. What it takes to find the ruler that can measure the line and plainly demonstrate the truth.
I just keep making ebooks and courses showing people how to make money online and succeed.
But I think that is not enough. I think that every man will have to look within and find the truth that breaks the illusion.
Next month I will open another membership site. I believe that membership sites are the most sustainable form of online income you can have. I speak from experience. I’ve done it twice before. I have no illusion.
I just finished a 20 video course called Membership Dons that teaches you how to do the same thing.
But the real question I believe…the real heart of everything I believe…will come down to this:
Does your brain believe the lines shown in the picture are the same length? Or do you still doubt it?
