Well have you ever gotten really angry about something and then just wrote an email to somebody you hated…but you didn’t send it? Instead you gave yourself 24 hours..you know…24 hour rule, then you deleted it and went about your merry way.
Everything is cool.
Well…this blog post is like that letter…
Here are 10 reasons you should never launch another IM product again:
…it means you are not getting the results you want out of your CPA campaigns. But, you know what? The good news is, it doesn’t have to be that way.
Don’t get me wrong. There is no silver bullet, no secret potion, no secret trick that no one else knows about the will take you from losing money in CPA to making $100’s or $1000’s of dollars a day. In truth, probably the single greatest obstacle people face in success in CPA is the idea that there is such a thing as push button riches, where little to no work is required. However, if you will do the work, and follow some simple rules, you can dramatically increase your odds of success.
So if there is a set of simple rules that can help someone create campaigns that make money, why isn’t everyone doing it? That’s a great question. One which can be explained as we go.
Please note, paid traffic and organic traffic campaigns are conducted and scaled differently, and the focus of this article is paid traffic campaigns.
So the 3 reasons you suck at CPA marketing are:
Although there is a place for direct linking in CPA marketing, it should be limited in scope for several reasons.
First, if you are direct linking most types of offers, you will restrict yourself from the most abundant and highest quality traffic sources. Google Adwords and Facebook are the two largest traffic platforms on the planet and they have a lot of high quality traffic to offer. It’s a violent scene. An intense scene. It says something. It says revenge is coming. It says none of you will escape me.
A whole jolly club with jolly pirate nicknames!
That’s what the black hat forum scene reminds me of.
I’m not going to name any one place in particular because I don’t want to increase their legend or give them more power than they deserve. SO who are they?
For those of you that don’t know, there is a certain element of the IM scene that will get a hold of your hard work, the thing you put your livelihood on. The thing you stayed up all those nights trying to build…they will get a hold of your products and they will let it rip…
The black hat forums are where they go to share it. Share it with the poor hopeless fools at the bottom who haven’t figured out that they have to take chances and spend money to make things happen. Share it with the IM Purgatory bound information junkies who “just want to know what’s in the box.”
I’m not mad at the people they are sharing the information with. After all…they are handicapped by mental blocks that they haven’t overcome yet. I get that. I’m not mad at them. I do feel sorry for them, but I’m not mad.
The jolly pirates on the other hand…well…
“Vengeance is mine said the Lord…”
But those Jolly blackhat pirates test me.
The Adolescent Narcissist
This guy is like 13 years old and he can’t make friends at school so he has figured out how to be good at stealing IM products. He fancies himself a “hacker” and takes joy in fools on the “blackhat forums” thanking him and up voting his “rep” points.
He doesn’t understand the damage he is doing to the vendor because he doesn’t know what it is to support a family. He doesn’t get having his back against a wall to pay a mortgage or make sure your kids get Christmas. He’s just a stupid fucking kid who’s parents probably use the computer as a babysitter.
Good luck with that.
Honestly, he is the least dangerous. On some level I feel bad for him. He’s learning the game all wrong. He’s got a lot of work to do to figure it out.
The Joy Rider
Similar to the Adolescent Narcissist this guy wanted to see what was in the box. No intention of ever using the product, he got himself a review copy and now he wants to get those extra props for sharing because he figures…all the other monkeys want to see what’s in the box too! He’s encouraged by the comments and the “rep” points too.
He’s thinks he’s a hunter. Looking for the next “cool” product to get a review copy of. You’re only as good as your last share right?
Shame on this guy. He’s a grown man. He’s a fool but still…a grown man. That being said though…you have to feel pity for the guy. He’s going nowhere fast. It’s just a hobby.
He should know he’s wrecking people. He should know he’s taking food out of the mouths of the vendors kids. He should but he doesn’t. He’s a fool. I’d like to punch him in the face if I was being honest with you. Just to wake him up, ya know?
The Jason Bourne
The Bourne is the worst of all the Pirates.
Named after a fictional CIA agent who was a sleeper assassin, The Bourne is a shark.
The Bourne knows the game. He probably knows it better than the poor fool he’s ripping off. He might even be a JV partner or a fellow trusted affiliate. He has an agenda.
The Bourne wants to wreck your launch. He doesn’t care about the “rep” or the influence in the blackhat forum. He wants…to wreck… your launch.
Maybe he is launching on the same day and he wants to eliminate competition.
Maybe he just wants to “destroy something beautiful.”
Maybe he just wants to “watch the world burn.”
But don’t kid yourself. It’s not random. The Bourne believes that there are no rules in love and war and he fancies himself a real live Sun Tzu true blue warrior.
He’s not. He’s a fucking snake.
Real warriors live by a code. They don’t sneak around in the shadows sabotaging their “friends” launches.
I have no love for the Bourne. They are sneaking around out there right now, leaking your products 2 days before you launch. They think you don’t know. But now you know.
I write this article tonight because I want the Bournes to know that I know.
I see you.
I have no sympathy for the Bournes. I think like most snakes, they deserve to have their heads beneath a boot.

So those are the 3 types I found. The Adolescent Narcissist, The Joy Rider, and the Jason Bourne. 2 of them might one day have a future…the 3rd needs to find life elsewhere.
As for me…
I am becoming a force to be reckoned with and I’m not going to stop. There’s a new way to do things now.
An honest way where we lift each other up. I really help my customers. I turn them into my peers and I help them win. Does that threaten you?

I recently read a fantastic article over on horkeyhandbook.com by Mickey Gast called ” How to Get Started with Affiliate Marketing.” I thought the article was really relevant heading into 2017 here and it was worthy of your time and attention. That being said there are several places that you can do this effectively and all of them have their own little nuances if you want to master them. Instagram is one such place. The growth that has been exploding from the Instagram platform is undeniable. people like this place and what I have found is that where the people are, there is money to be made…almost always.
As marketers it’s our job to figure out how that puzzle works.
When I first started trying with Instagram…it was a fail. What I found was that it was very easy to build followers but very difficult to generate traffic. Does that mean that Instagram sucks for affiliate marketing?
What it means is that I didn’t crack the code. I didn’t solve the puzzle. So I have decided to re-examine this platform because I assure you with over 400 million users, it is worth our time to do so.
So let’s take this by the numbers here. the 5 biggest problems on Instagram and how to solve them as I see it:
Inevitably when you start something in a new place you ask that age old question, ” How do I get started?” To find my answers I looked to a fantastic article on Shopify written by Neil Waller called, “The Beginner’s Guide To Influencer Marketing on Instagram.” Neil does a fantastic job of setting the groundwork and getting you started quickly and efficiently.
The second question I had after getting started was what kind of content should I really be focusing on? What has been successful in the passed? What kinds of things are people really engaging with on this platform. To find my answers on this one I looked to a really great article on Hubspot by Lindsay Kolowich entitled, “What to Post on Instagram: 18 Photo & Video Ideas to Spark Inspiration.” So much inspiration and insight can be gleaned from this one.
Next, after I start getting an idea about content and what direction I want to go with that, the issue always comes up. When is the best time to post my updates? When will I reach the most people? After all we put work into this stuff. We don’t want to do it for nothing. The answer to this question came to me in a superb post by Dara Fontein called, “The Best Time to Post on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.” The answer might surprise you…
At first I thought this was a no brainer. I need the audience to be as big as I can get it right? Well what happened was When I was really into facebook groups I started to notice that there was a point of “critical mass” you could say where your audience starts to become less effective. There is definitely a sweet spot. “The rise of ‘micro-influencers’ on Instagram” is an excellent article is by Yuyu Chen and will give you a great benchmark to aim at when getting started.
Let’s be honest. Everything moves faster when you start throwing money at it…as long as you know what your doing. That’s just the way it is. So is it beneficial to throw some money at Instagram and start learning how to master paid advertising here? Of course. It just depends on what kind of a budget you are working with. You can make money online by just investing your time, but once you start making some of that money…you need to invest back in your business. Paid advertising is a prime way to do that. Ellen Bartolino wrote an excellent article on Hubspot called, ” A Step-by-Step Guide to Advertising on Instagram” that is a perfect place to start if you are ready to throw some money at this thing and speed it up!
So these are some of the big problems that I faced when trying to start seeing results with Instagram. Maybe you face similar obstacles in your quest to actually get traction on this platform. The other day someone reached out to me on my YouTube channel and said they were really frustrated with trying to make money online. They were broke, depressed, and felt like giving up. Often times though, I notice that something inspired me in some way to take that chance. Something was the catalyst in every instance. These three come to mind…
It was called “How to Easily Shorten and Track Affiliate Links.” For a lot of people that are first getting into affiliate marketing, this is something they overlook. I promise you however, that you most definitely want to be tracking your affiliate links. The fact of the matter is, you only have so much energy. You need to know what you are doing that is effective and what you are doing that is not effective. Knowing where your traffic and sales are coming from are a big part of that.

I always tell people, “When you jump in the IM game just understand that you are jumping into the deep end of the pool with a bunch of hungry sharks.” I mean that it’s very competitive. There are a lot of good people and some grumpy ones as well. There are many different personalities and many different ideas on what professionalism is, what good customer service is, and dare I say what good ethics are too.
I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again. It’s a place where wizards pull bags of gold out of thin air and barbarians slay dragons with mighty swords of power. It’s scary and dangerous. Risky and at times downright miserable.
“Success” is a word that is thrown around like some fantasy football trophy and the weak of heart die painful obscure deaths…
But for all that noise…
I love this place.

The only real rule in this game is that there are no rules. No right or wrong ways to do anything. There is only more effective and less effective. Often it is determined by how unique and clever you can be in your approach. So yeah…creative people win. Fearless people win. People who are not afraid to try something outside the norm, fail and talk about it win.
If you can’t be creative, if you can’t be original, if you find it hard to be yourself or express anything that resembles true emotion online…things get harder for you and you are operating at a disadvantage.
Be yourself. Be the one thing that you are the expert at. Write about THAT shit. Make THAT shit relevant to your niche.
Give yourself permission to fail and then let it rip.
So those are my 10. There are many others but these are the 10 I was really feeling today. They all hold a great amount of power in their ability to help you move your business forward.
